Tebi is a Connected Restaurant Management System that unifies point of sale, reservations, kitchen prep, payments, and analytics into one seamless platform. Founded by Arnout Schuijff (co-founder of Adyen) and backed by €50M from Index Ventures and CapitalG, Tebi serves thousands of restaurants, cafés, bars, and coffee shops across the Netherlands, UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, Denmark, and Finland.
You will own design for the core hospitality service flows: the point of sale, kitchen display, payment flows, floor plans, receipts, and cash management. Your work will span multiple devices—iPads at the bar, handhelds on the floor, payment terminals at tables, kitchen screens, and printers—all needing to work seamlessly together for staff who may be new to the role. A key differentiator is that Tebi feels as intuitive as a consumer app, minimizing training time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning design for core POS, kitchen display, and payment experiences
- Simplifying onboarding so restaurants can set up and run their first service with confidence
- Designing the checkout, bill splitting, tips, service charges, and payment terminal interfaces
- Owning the design system for the native app, ensuring consistent design DNA across the platform
- Working AI-first: prototyping in code, shipping UI yourself, and helping reinvent Tebi with AI-powered features like self-configuring setup
- Getting close to merchants to understand their needs and champion them across the company
- Shaping product direction alongside the PM and engineering team
- Mentoring other designers and helping the team level up
You will work with a product manager and five engineers, collaborating across teams on shared work. The role is based in the Amsterdam office with a requirement of at least three days per week in-office.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Led design end-to-end on a product people depend on, with other designers looking to you for craft
- Ability to make complex systems feel simple and intuitive for first-time users in high-pressure situations
- Deep understanding of complex systems: states, edge cases, money handling, and error scenarios
- Experience using AI tools in your work, or willingness to learn quickly (required but not expected to be expert on day one)
BONUS EXPERIENCE:
- Native apps for tablets, phones, or handhelds
- Payments or fintech products
- Products spanning multiple devices or real hardware
- Building or running a design system
- Hospitality industry background (having worked a shift in a restaurant, bar, or café)
NOT A FIT: If you are happiest designing dense desktop tools for expert users, this role may not suit you. Success at Tebi requires independence, curiosity, and passion for hospitality.
