Lendable is a UK fintech unicorn (800+ employees, profitable since 2017, backed by Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs) building consumer finance technology. The company has rebuilt loans, credit cards, and car finance products from scratch, serving millions of customers with best-in-class reviews (4.9/5 on Trustpilot). They are expanding into the UK and US markets to disrupt legacy banking systems.
You will join a 5-person Product Design team reporting to the VP of Product & Design. Your primary focus is the Zable app, a financial SuperApp with 2M+ monthly active users that consolidates credit cards, loans, memberships, and more. You will own complex product areas end-to-end, from discovery and research through production-ready design. You will set design direction alongside product managers and engineers, mentor other designers, and elevate craft and outcomes across the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead discovery work, selecting appropriate research methods and translating findings into clear design direction
- Own design delivery for your squad from initial flows through to engineering handoff
- Collaborate with engineers throughout the design process, weighing build costs in your decisions
- Contribute to and maintain the design system, knowing when to break from it for customer benefit
- Run usability tests and experiments with defined success metrics
- Leverage AI across your workflow, including pushing design changes to production independently
- Design to Consumer Duty and accessibility standards; identify and escalate compliance issues
- Facilitate design critiques and produce rationale documentation
The company operates on three design principles: Simplicity Wins (strip away complexity and jargon), Evidence Over Ego (data-driven, tested decisions), and Trust is Our Best Feature (transparency and security reinforce user confidence).
