Gaia Family is transforming fertility care to make it accessible to everyone. The company's mission is to ensure that financial barriers don't prevent people from starting a family. They're building technology infrastructure to deliver fertility treatments at 10x better quality, with 2x better outcomes, at half the cost. As a Senior Product Designer, you will own one of Gaia's core product areas end-to-end, reporting to the Lead Product Designer and collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and the Member Growth team. This is a high-ownership role where you will frame problems, conduct research with members and prospects, shape solutions, and ship them. Key responsibilities: - Own end-to-end design for your product area, from problem definition through shipped, measured outcomes - Conduct research directly with members, prospects, and internal teams; translate insights into product decisions - Work alongside engineers daily, making judgment calls during build rather than handing off specifications - Design for a medically complex, financially high-stakes, emotionally sensitive domain where clarity and trust are paramount - Contribute to and help mature shared design foundations (patterns, components, standards) as the design function grows - Bring evidence to product decisions using research, analytics, and judgment; push back when evidence points elsewhere The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the NYC office. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years of product design experience, with meaningful time as the sole or lead designer on a product surface - Portfolio demonstrating your thinking process: the problem you were handed, what you changed about it, and outcomes post-launch - Comfort operating independently with good judgment about when to move fast versus when to research further - Strong craft in interaction and interface design; fluency in Figma and modern design systems - Experience working closely with engineers in a fast-shipping environment - Genuine interest in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated, high-stakes domains, and patience for their demands - Familiarity with AI design tools like Claude Design and willingness to adopt new tools and workflows - Bonus: experience with complex service/operations tooling or products where users are going through difficult experiences
