Mendix, part of Siemens Software, is building an Agentic Enterprise Platform that uses visual modeling to abstract coding out of application development. The platform enables collaboration between business users and developers to create and deploy enterprise software faster.
You will lead UX design across the full product development cycle for cutting-edge AI and agentic technologies. Your responsibilities include:
• Lead UX design from concept through visual and interaction design
• Create concepts and prototypes to communicate design ideas and advocate for optimal user experience
• Transform user insights into human-centered solutions through regular customer and stakeholder usability evaluation
• Own design from initial prototype to final implementation, proactively identifying and resolving challenges
• Engage directly with customers for validation and insights, translating findings into user-friendly designs
• Stay current with industry trends, continuously develop your skills, and share knowledge across teams and R&D units
The role is based in Rotterdam with a hybrid work model. You'll work in a distributed group across Munich and Rotterdam responsible for driving innovation in the platform. The team values startup culture, ownership, and flat organizational structure with real influence on product direction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in design or proven equivalent experience
• 2–5+ years of proven experience as a product designer
• Expert proficiency in Figma and demonstrated experience working with design systems
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• Experience evaluating and validating product usability with customers
• Ability to meet colleagues several times per week in the Rotterdam office
PREFERRED:
• Knowledge of generative AI, agentic AI, and AI Agents
• Experience designing components for a design system
• Background in designing software development tools or sophisticated products
• Experience with agentic development tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Figma Design Agent, or equivalent
