Upside transforms brick-and-mortar commerce by bringing online retail sophistication—profit measurement, attribution, incrementality—to physical retail. The company has helped millions of users earn 2-3x more cashback than competitors and hundreds of thousands of retailers drive measurable profit. Billions in commerce flow through Upside annually. The Product Analytics team is embedded across Upside's consumer product organization, using data to improve the app experience and drive growth. You'll work alongside data scientists, experimentation specialists, and analytics partners in a collaborative, inclusive culture that values curiosity, pragmatism, and product intuition. Key responsibilities include: supporting the Consumer Product team with KPI reporting and OKR setting; designing, launching, and analyzing A/B tests across the Upside app with clear test plans and power calculations; shaping the product roadmap through exploratory analysis and hypothesis generation; conducting root-cause investigations to understand user behavior and product performance; contributing to revenue impact forecasting; building intuitive dashboards and data products for complex user journeys; partnering with Product and Engineering on event instrumentation and data models; and leveraging AI tools to automate and improve workflows across experimentation, analysis, and planning. You'll need 5+ years in product analytics, data science, or experimentation within cross-functional product teams. Strong SQL/Python proficiency (Snowflake), experience with data visualization (Looker, Hex), event-based product analytics (Segment, Mixpanel), and A/B testing design (Optimizely) are essential. You should be comfortable with fast-paced, iterative environments, balancing rigor with speed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical—you'll explain statistical results to non-technical audiences and guide decision-making. A collaborative, low-ego working style and genuine curiosity about AI tools and agentic workflows are valued. This hybrid role is based in Austin, Chicago, DC, or NYC with in-office attendance required Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Compensation ranges from $130,000–$160,000 (Tier 2 cities) to $145,000–$175,000 (NYC), plus equity, 401(k), comprehensive health coverage, paid parental leave, unlimited PTO, and professional development support.
