Docker is seeking a Senior Principal Product Manager to own the product strategy and roadmap for a new AI & Agent Platform—a 0-to-1 initiative at the intersection of AI, containers, and developer experience. This role reports to senior leadership and carries significant autonomy to define a new product category from the ground up.
You will own the complete product lifecycle: defining vision and strategy, writing early specs, prototyping with engineering, validating with customers, and iterating rapidly. Docker Sandboxes, an early signal product, is already one of the fastest-growing new products in Docker's history, and the opportunity ahead is substantially larger.
Key responsibilities include: setting product strategy and success metrics; building the platform from zero with hands-on involvement in specs and prototypes; driving conception through delivery without handoff; defining how agentic ecosystem components (secure execution, tool connectivity, model access, governance, observability) compose into a coherent platform; ensuring the platform serves developers, platform teams, and enterprise operators; defining developer experience across CLI, IDE, and CI pipelines; collaborating cross-functionally on product coherence and go-to-market; partnering with engineering on architecture decisions; engaging directly with customers to inform every decision; and overcoming blockers independently.
Required: 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years on developer tools, infrastructure, or platform products. Deep technical fluency with container/VM runtimes, AI agents, LLMs, and protocol-level tool connectivity. Proven ability to ship 0-to-1 products in fast-moving environments. Builder mentality—you prototype, sketch architectures, and test ideas with customers before specs are finalized. Strong product sense and UX instincts, particularly around API design, CLI ergonomics, and error messaging. Strategic thinking paired with execution follow-through. Comfort operating in ambiguity. Excellent communication across product briefs, executive presentations, and technical debates. Experience growing and monetizing products at scale, including pricing, packaging, and go-to-market decisions.
Bonus: experience in containers, cloud-native, DevOps, AI/ML developer tooling, or the agentic AI ecosystem.
