As a Senior PHP Engineer, you will lead the architectural evolution of Airalo's global platform serving over 20 million users. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on solving complex technical challenges at scale. You'll work primarily with Laravel, though the role values deep architectural expertise—particularly from seasoned Symfony practitioners who can apply rigorous design patterns to the Laravel ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting and implementing backend solutions that support millions of concurrent users
- Mentoring and guiding other engineers through code reviews and technical leadership
- Balancing rapid innovation with system stability and reliability
- Contributing to platform scalability, performance optimization, and technical debt management
- Collaborating asynchronously across a distributed, global team
You'll be based anywhere in Spain, working full-time on a permanent contract (contrato indefinido) via Deel as the employer of record.
