You will join the Accounting team as a Senior Payroll Analyst, working closely with the Sr. Payroll Manager and cross-functional partners in People, Legal, and Finance to scale payroll operations during a period of significant growth. This role offers high visibility across the company and the opportunity to deepen expertise in payroll while building out a best-in-class function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Process semi-monthly and biweekly payroll across multiple states and entities
- Execute payroll changes including complex pay calculations, adjustments, deductions, compensation updates, employee status changes, and wage garnishments
- Execute time and attendance processing with seamless payroll system integration
- Review payroll outputs for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Respond to employee inquiries and troubleshoot cross-functional issues
- Support payroll tax compliance, including tax notices, unemployment tax rates, state tax registrations (SUI/withholding), filings, remittances, and regulatory updates
- Audit 401(k) deferrals each pay cycle and prepare control totals
- Assist with payroll audits, reporting, employment verifications, and administrative tasks
- Support special projects, process improvements, documentation, and payroll procedure updates
- Support year-end payroll activities
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency, and collaborate on recommendations to senior management
Workplace arrangement: For those in the tri-state (NY) area, you will work at HQ on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For those outside the tri-state area, in-person collaboration occurs throughout the year during team on-sites.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience, ideally in a high-growth or complex environment
- Prior experience processing payroll across multiple entities and jurisdictions
- Experience with end-to-end payroll and timekeeping processes, resolving related issues, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to cultivate effective working relationships both remotely and in-person, and communicate cross-functionally across all management levels
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (functions, pivot tables, macros)
- Experience with payroll systems such as UKG is a plus
