Spring Health is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to manage day-to-day payroll operations for a global mental health platform. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Payroll, you will oversee end-to-end execution of multi-state semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll runs, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions. Key responsibilities include processing payroll for multiple states, auditing and reconciling wages, deductions, tax entries, and time-and-attendance data. You'll partner with People Operations to coordinate employee lifecycle changes, leaves of absence, and benefits deductions. The role requires managing state and local tax compliance registrations, reviewing and updating internal payroll tax procedures, and supporting year-end operations including tax filing verifications and annual employer reporting. You'll conduct routine audits of benefit plan deductions and carrier invoices, serve as the primary contact for employee payroll inquiries, and collaborate on payroll system workflows to automate manual processes. The position includes compiling detailed payroll reporting for compliance documentation and financial reconciliation. Success metrics focus on executing all payroll cycles with zero material errors, resolving employee inquiries within service-level timeframes, delivering reconciled monthly data ahead of financial close deadlines, completing tax audits on time, and modernizing payroll tracking by reducing manual spreadsheet interventions through system automation. You bring 5+ years of dedicated payroll administration experience with multi-state tax compliance expertise, in-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal wage-and-hour laws, direct experience with payroll systems, strong technical capability in data verification and Excel, and proven analytical capacity to audit complex datasets and isolate errors. Exceptional attention to detail and strict confidentiality practices with sensitive compensation records are essential. Nice-to-have qualifications include Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) designation, and prior experience with specialized equity compensation or international employer-of-record models. This is a fully remote position with occasional travel for team or company events.
