Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform, enabling users to trade on real-world outcomes across politics, economics, sports, and current affairs. The company processed $21B in trading volume in 2025 and is growing rapidly as an alternative news source. As a Senior Payment Risk Analyst, you will own the risk posture around all money movement on the platform—deposits, withdrawals, and settlement payouts. Operating as a CFTC-regulated prediction market exchange, payment infrastructure is core to the business, not a back-office function. You will sit at the intersection of fraud operations, payment rail mechanics, and regulatory compliance. Day-to-day responsibilities include investigating live payment fraud cases across deposits, withdrawals, and settlement payouts; making timely decisions on holds, reversals, and account actions; monitoring transaction data for anomalies tied to high-volume market events; writing and tuning fraud detection rules based on emerging patterns; identifying control gaps across the full payment stack and working directly with Engineering, Compliance, and InfoSec to close them; owning relationships with payment processors, card networks, and banking partners on risk matters including chargeback disputes and compliance inquiries; producing risk memos and committee-level reporting for senior stakeholders; and maintaining core fraud and payment risk documentation including policies, runbooks, and metrics. The environment is dynamic: payment volumes can spike by an order of magnitude in hours when major markets go live, fraud patterns shift rapidly, and regulatory expectations are high and evolving. You will work closely with Compliance, Engineering, Legal, and InfoSec teams. Required qualifications: 8+ years of hands-on experience in payments risk, fraud risk, or transaction monitoring at fintech, exchange, payments company, bank, or regulated financial services; direct experience with ACH, wire, card networks (Visa/Mastercard), and at least one real-time payment rail (RTP or FedNow) including dispute mechanics and fraud patterns; working knowledge of BSA/AML fundamentals and how payments risk overlaps with AML risk; demonstrated experience setting quantitative risk thresholds (velocity limits, chargeback ratios) and defending decisions to stakeholders, processors, and banks; strong written communication skills for risk memos and senior reporting; experience auditing payment stacks end-to-end and identifying control gaps. Preferred: familiarity with CFTC-regulated environments or derivatives/exchange contexts; experience in high-growth environments with rapid payment volume scaling; exposure to crypto or blockchain-adjacent payment flows.
