Clear Solar Corporation is commercializing NASA-licensed electrodynamic dust shield (EDS) technology that removes dust from solar panels without water or mechanical cleaning. The company's ClearAdvantage system integrates transparent electrodes with distributed electronic controllers to generate electrostatic traveling waves for dust removal from solar surfaces, supporting both terrestrial renewable energy systems and space exploration missions including lunar and Martian applications. As Senior New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer, you will lead the transformation of cutting-edge electrodynamic dust mitigation technologies into manufacturable products. This multidisciplinary role spans mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and test disciplines, requiring you to design, fabricate, assemble, integrate, and test prototype hardware for commercial solar energy systems and space technology development. Key responsibilities include: leading design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) efforts; developing mechanical fixtures, prototype hardware, tooling, and laboratory equipment; assembling prototype electronic systems including wiring harnesses, sensors, controllers, and power electronics; supporting PCB integration, enclosure design, and system packaging; developing and executing comprehensive engineering test plans to validate electrical, functional, optical, and environmental performance; supporting field deployments and customer demonstrations; managing supplier relationships for components and fabrication services; creating detailed engineering documentation including assembly procedures, test procedures, bills of materials, drawings, and work instructions; and collaborating with internal engineers, research partners, customers, and subcontractors on proposal development and technical planning. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Science, or related multidisciplinary engineering field. You must have 5+ years of engineering experience in product development, aerospace, robotics, renewable energy, or related industries, with demonstrated experience taking products from concept through prototype development into early production. Hands-on fabrication and prototyping experience, mechanical assembly and integration expertise, and ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems are essential. Strong skills in component selection, documentation, organizational management, and multitasking are required, along with excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred experience includes aerospace hardware, robotics, autonomous systems, solar energy systems, high-voltage electronics, precision manufacturing, space qualification and environmental testing, optical systems, electronics integration, PCB bring-up, rapid prototyping, additive manufacturing, lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQs), CAD proficiency (SolidWorks or similar), and experience with government-funded R&D programs (NASA, DoD, DOE, NSF).
