Flock is an AI-first insurtech company transforming motor fleet insurance through telematics, real-time data, and advanced analytics. Recently acquired by Admiral (May 2026), the company combines startup agility with the backing of the UK's leading motor insurer. The mission is to proactively help fleet customers prevent crashes and save lives, rather than simply paying claims after incidents occur. As Senior Motor Fleet Underwriter, you will manage a large business portfolio while leveraging cutting-edge analytics and AI to assess risk, optimize underwriting processes, and create tailored policies for fleet clients. You'll have autonomy to mentor junior team members, contribute significantly to team targets, and help unlock growth into new market segments and emerging mobility trends. The role involves working with AI tools to extract risk data from submissions, triage cases faster, and accelerate quoting—freeing your time for the judgment calls that require experienced underwriting expertise. Key responsibilities include: building and maintaining strong relationships with insurance brokers; collating data and providing portfolio analysis support to the Head of Underwriting; gathering and improving risk information processes to ensure frictionless client and broker experiences; identifying opportunities to enhance policy wording and coverage; staying current with rapidly evolving market trends and cutting-edge motor fleet products; actively training and developing underwriting and operations team members; and using AI confidently while maintaining your own judgment on every decision. You bring extensive motor fleet underwriting experience, a proven track record with broker relationships, and comfort with AI in underwriting workflows. Preferred qualifications include experience with large corporate customers, ACII certification (or progress toward it), and collaboration with product teams on roadmap enhancements. Flock offers 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, share incentive plan, workplace pension, private medical insurance (including dental, optical, mental health), salary sacrifice schemes (holiday purchase, tech, gym, cycle to work, EV, family medical), enhanced parental leave, £1,000 annual professional development budget, £500 learning & development allowance, and 3 days paid L&D leave. Hybrid working requires minimum 3 days per week in Central London office (near Moorgate/Liverpool Street); client and broker visits can substitute for office days.
