Flock is transforming motor fleet insurance through real-time, data-driven technology. The company has raised over £50M and now insures hundreds of fleets across the UK, including major clients like Amazon, DPD, Uber, and Bolt. As a Senior Motor Fleet Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in delivering smarter, safer, and more cost-effective insurance solutions.
In this role, you will manage and develop a large business portfolio while mentoring junior team members and contributing significantly to team targets. You'll leverage advanced analytics and AI to assess risk, optimize underwriting processes, and create tailored policies for fleet clients. Your expertise will help unlock growth into new market segments and support Flock's ambition to become one of the UK's largest fleet MGAs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Underwriting motor fleet insurance with extensive expertise and judgment
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with insurance brokers
- Collating data and providing portfolio analysis support to the Head of Underwriting
- Improving risk information gathering processes for frictionless quoting and onboarding
- Identifying opportunities to enhance policy wording and coverage
- Staying current with rapidly evolving market trends and emerging products
- Training and developing underwriting and operations team members
- Using AI tools to extract risk information, speed up quoting, and triage cases while maintaining independent judgment
You'll bring extensive motor fleet underwriting experience, a track record of strong broker relationships, and comfort working with AI in underwriting processes. Preferred qualifications include experience with large corporate customers, ACII certification, and collaboration with product teams on enhancements.
Flock operates on a hybrid model with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Central London office (near Moorgate and Liverpool Street). Client visits and broker meetings can substitute for office days.
