The company's mission is to proactively prevent crashes and keep drivers safe, paying out millions annually to fleets that improve safety outcomes. As Senior Motor Fleet Underwriter, you will manage a large business portfolio while leveraging advanced analytics and AI to assess risk, optimize underwriting processes, and create tailored policies for fleet clients. You'll have autonomy to mentor junior team members, contribute significantly to team targets, and help unlock growth into new market segments and emerging mobility trends. Your role bridges traditional underwriting expertise with cutting-edge technology—using AI to extract risk data from submissions, triage cases faster, and accelerate quoting, while retaining your judgment on final decisions. Key responsibilities include: - Manage and develop a substantial business portfolio of fleet insurance accounts - Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers - Collate data and provide analysis to the Head of Underwriting to monitor and assess portfolio performance - Provide feedback to continuously improve risk information gathering processes for seamless quoting and onboarding - Identify opportunities to enhance policy wording and coverage - Stay current with rapidly evolving market trends and emerging products in motor fleet insurance - Train and develop members of the Underwriting and Operations teams, promoting underwriting knowledge across Flock - Work confidently with AI tools in underwriting workflows while maintaining independent judgment The role is hybrid, typically three days per week in the Central London office (near Moorgate and Liverpool Street), with flexibility for longer commutes. Client site visits, conferences, and broker office visits count toward office days. REQUIREMENTS: Essential: - Extensive experience underwriting motor fleet insurance - Track record of building strong, supportive relationships with insurance brokers - Ability to collate data and support portfolio monitoring and analysis - Capability to provide feedback and improve risk information gathering processes - Ability to identify and surface policy wording and coverage improvements - Knowledge of rapidly evolving motor fleet market trends and products - Proven ability to actively train and develop underwriting and operations team members - Comfort using AI in underwriting work (extracting risk information, speeding up quoting) while maintaining independent judgment Preferred: - Experience dealing with large corporate customers - ACII qualified or working toward qualification - Experience collaborating with product teams on product, process, and customer journey enhancements
