Flock is an AI-first insurtech company transforming motor fleet insurance through telematics, real-time data, and proactive safety interventions. Recently acquired by Admiral (May 2026), Flock combines startup agility with the backing of the UK's leading motor insurer. As Senior Motor Fleet Underwriter, you will manage a large business portfolio while leveraging advanced analytics and AI to assess risk and optimize underwriting processes. You'll have autonomy to develop junior team members, contribute to team targets, and help unlock growth into new market segments and emerging mobility trends. The role positions you to support Flock's ambition to become one of the UK's largest fleet MGAs. Key responsibilities include: underwriting motor fleet insurance with extensive expertise; building and maintaining strong relationships with insurance brokers; collating data and providing portfolio analysis support to the Head of Underwriting; gathering and improving risk information processes for frictionless quoting and onboarding; identifying opportunities to enhance policy wording and coverage; staying current with rapidly evolving market trends; actively training and developing underwriting and operations team members; and using AI tools (e.g., risk data extraction, quote acceleration) while maintaining independent judgment on all decisions. You'll work closely with product teams to drive product, process, and customer journey enhancements. The role involves a hybrid model (minimum 3 days/week in Central London office near Moorgate/Liverpool Street), with flexibility for client site and broker office visits to substitute for office days. Essential qualifications: extensive motor fleet underwriting experience, track record of broker relationship building, ability to collate and analyze portfolio data, comfort with AI in underwriting workflows. Preferred: large corporate customer experience, ACII qualification or in progress, product team collaboration experience.
