Remote is a global employment platform that helps organizations recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly. The company operates fully remotely across six continents and is seeking a Senior Immigration Lawyer to join the Onboarding and Mobility team.
In this role, you will provide legal expertise and strategic guidance on immigration compliance and global mobility services. You'll monitor and manage assigned immigration cases using case management systems, provide counsel on visa sponsorships and business travel, and serve as the primary point of contact for complex immigration matters. Key responsibilities include analyzing and preparing visa and work permit applications, taking ownership of senior-level escalations, mentoring junior Mobility Specialists and Coordinators, and ensuring compliance with evolving immigration regulations.
You will also contribute to process improvements by establishing in-house immigration services to increase efficiency and revenue, maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships, and actively participate in training material development for new service offerings. The role requires independent judgment on complex client cases and the ability to work asynchronously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
You'll report to the Manager of Mobility and work collaboratively with the broader Mobility team to support Remote's mission of simplifying global employment. The company prioritizes applications from DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) regions and values team members who bring strong automation and AI fluency to their work.
