Salary: USD 114,000 - 188,000 / annual
Relay Therapeutics, a clinical-stage precision medicines company, seeks a Senior Manager of Contracts to lead its contract lifecycle management (CLM) function. Reporting to the Senior Director of Legal Operations, you will own end-to-end contract strategy and execution across master service agreements, software licenses, consulting agreements, clinical trial agreements, and other drug discovery industry contracts.
Key responsibilities include: leading contract negotiation strategy and execution; managing requirements gathering, RFP, selection, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the CLM platform; identifying and scaling AI and automation tools for contract review, drafting, and clause libraries; developing contracting processes, templates, playbooks and negotiation best practices; serving as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on contract terms; overseeing contract lifecycle activities including renewals, amendments and change orders; managing software integration between CLM and purchase order platforms; coordinating with finance to ensure smooth end-to-end processes from contract initiation through invoicing; analyzing CLM data to identify improvement areas and executing data cleanup initiatives; developing CLM metrics, reports and dashboards; assisting with legal process training and enforcement; and supporting the legal team with budget management and ad hoc projects.
You bring a minimum of 7 years of increasing responsibility in contracts management, with hands-on experience independently reviewing, drafting, redlining and negotiating contracts in the life sciences industry. You are enthusiastic about learning new systems and platforms, particularly AI-enabled legal technology, while understanding where human expertise remains essential. You possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong attention to detail, high emotional intelligence, unwavering commitment to ethics and integrity, and the ability to move projects forward by engaging stakeholders and solving problems collaboratively.
