Amperesand is building intelligent, software-defined power infrastructure products based on advanced medium-voltage Solid State Transformer technology. The company addresses a critical infrastructure gap: electricity demand is surging due to AI data centers, electric vehicles, and industrial growth, yet power infrastructure hasn't meaningfully evolved in nearly 100 years. Amperesand's hardware and software solutions are faster to deploy, smaller, more efficient, and capable of supporting dynamic modern energy needs. As Senior Manager of Test Engineering, you will lead a team of technical experts responsible for manufacturing test and product validation of high-voltage power electronics hardware and firmware across prototype, pre-production, and volume production stages. You own the test system uptime, timely delivery, and operational health of the test lab. Key responsibilities include: leading and mentoring a team of test engineers; setting direction on test architecture, methodology, and execution; owning end-to-end strategy for manufacturing test and product validation including coverage, accuracy, cycle time, cost, and scalability; overseeing design, build, validation, and deployment of test systems for high-voltage, high-current power electronics; ensuring high test system uptime and establishing preventive maintenance practices; managing the test lab including layout, equipment, calibration, safety standards, and capacity planning; driving manufacturing test specifications for volume production; partnering with program management on resource planning and milestones; collaborating with EE design, ME design, and firmware teams on DFT and failure investigation; driving continuous improvement of test efficiency and automation; and establishing scalable frameworks for test requirements decomposition and program execution. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams across design, manufacturing, operations, quality, and reliability to bring rigor, speed, and reliability to everything the company ships. The role is based in Reno with company hubs also in San Francisco and Singapore.
