Salary: USD 192,000 - 237,000 / annual
Airbnb is seeking a Senior Manager of Technical Education to lead the team responsible for enabling technical education across the Tech organization. The TechEd team delivers bootcamp programs for new hires, EngU and DataU programming, tech lunch 'n' learn talks, and the Engineering apprentice program "Connect." This role will also support the enablement of AI skills across the organization.
In this position, you will lead a high-performing team and serve as a strategic partner to stakeholders within the Tech organization. You will be responsible for understanding skill gaps, performing needs assessments, and establishing a vision and strategy for technical education. Your typical responsibilities include:
- Connecting with stakeholders to understand skill gaps and performing needs assessments
- Establishing vision and strategy for technical education initiatives
- Coaching team members and providing feedback on programs and initiatives
- Providing subject matter expertise on learning science and skill acquisition
- Collaborating with the Tech L&D team to build and execute high-impact programs
- Partnering with vendors and consultants to execute strategy and vision
- Amplifying and evangelizing a culture of learning within the Tech organization
- Reporting on learning impact and outcomes to senior leadership
- Scaling and designing initiatives, processes, and tools for an organization of approximately 3,000 people

You will need exceptional people management skills, the ability to build deep relationships across diverse stakeholders, and a data-driven approach to evaluating learning experiences.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 12+ years of experience guiding strategy and execution for technical education (bootcamps, lunch 'n' learns, apprenticeship programs, technical upskilling for practitioners)
- 5+ years of experience as a people manager
- Track record of creative and best-in-class experience design with commitment to innovation and experimentation
- Demonstrated ability to shape a vision and execute the associated roadmap
- Experience scaling and designing initiatives, processes, and tools for an organization of ~3,000
- Experience working with vendors and partners to execute a vision
- Comfortable with learning technologies and educational technology platforms
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholders and cross-functional partners
- Data-driven approach to evaluating and measuring learning experiences
- Exceptional understanding of Technology and Engineering organizations and how they operate
- Direct technical expertise with coding or data science is a bonus
- Lifelong learner, curious about new technologies and best practices in L&D
Note: This position is US Remote Eligible. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with your manager.
