Wrapbook is an AI-powered production finance platform trusted by Netflix, Paramount, and other major studios. The company is building systems to help finance teams manage payroll, spend, and accounting for feature films, TV, and commercials. This role offers the opportunity to build a tax function from the ground up at a high-growth, well-funded company. As Senior Manager of Tax, you will own the complete tax function end-to-end, serving as the sole in-house tax expert. Responsibilities include corporate and income tax compliance (federal, state, local filings, quarterly estimates, annual returns); sales and indirect tax management across all operating jurisdictions (nexus determination, registration, filing, audit response); and Canadian tax obligations including GST/HST, provincial sales taxes, SRED, and CRA correspondence. You will scope, select, and implement a tax engine integrated with the company's ERP (Rillet) to automate tax calculation at scale. You'll research technical tax positions and translate findings into documented, defensible filing positions and internal policy. Partnering with Product and Engineering, you'll design the tax structure of customer invoices to ensure correct tax assessment, display, and remittance. Additionally, you'll advise leadership on tax planning and exposure as the business enters new jurisdictions and launches new products, and manage relationships with third-party tax advisors, auditors, and taxing authorities. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, or finance; six or more years of progressive tax experience spanning corporate/income and sales/indirect tax, ideally with a Big Four or regional firm foundation; hands-on experience implementing or administering a tax engine with ERP integration; working knowledge of ASC 740 tax provision; foreign or international tax experience including Canadian tax; proficiency with tax research platforms; and strong organizational and self-sufficiency skills. CPA certification (or CPA Ontario equivalent) is preferred but not required.
