Salary: USD 227,000 - 315,000 / annual

Affirm is seeking a Senior Manager of Quantitative Analytics to lead the Model Risk Management (MRM) team's underwriting and credit risk validation sector. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution, overseeing a team of quantitative professionals while personally validating sophisticated machine learning models used in Affirm's buy-now-pay-later credit platform. Key responsibilities include: - Leading and mentoring a team of quantitative analysts focused on model validation - Executing rigorous, independent validations of machine learning models across underwriting and credit risk - Evaluating conceptual soundness, data integrity, and performance stability through comprehensive testing and monitoring - Identifying model weaknesses and collaborating with model owners to resolve validation findings - Partnering with cross-functional teams to enhance the enterprise-wide MRM framework - Ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory expectations through coordination with Accounting, Internal Controls, and Compliance teams Required qualifications: - 9+ years in highly technical roles such as model development, validation, or quantitative analytics - Deep expertise in machine learning, underwriting, and credit risk management - Advanced Python scripting and SQL proficiency for large-scale data analysis - Proven track record managing and mentoring quantitative teams - BS, MS, or PhD in Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, or Data Science - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional communication abilities This is a remote-first role based in the US, offering competitive compensation with equity, health benefits, and wellness stipends.
