Salary: USD 156,000 - 214,500 / annual
Faire is a technology wholesale platform connecting independent retailers globally with suppliers and products. This is a foundational hire to architect and own procurement during a period of pivotal growth.
You will define procurement strategy and operations at Faire, balancing governance with speed, policy with autonomy, and cost control with business enablement. This role sits at the intersection of People, Finance, Legal, and every internal Business Unit, responsible for transforming vendor engagement, purchasing workflows, sourcing operations, and internal controls.
As a player-coach, you will both roll up your sleeves to run sourcing efforts directly and design scalable systems, policies, and governance for procurement operations. You will be the foundational hire in a growing function, with responsibility for hiring additional sourcing professionals and executing the long-term vision for Procurement at Faire.
Key responsibilities include:
**Strategy & Infrastructure:** Develop and execute the long-term vision for Procurement at Faire, including principles, policies, and KPIs. Lead the design of purchasing workflows and approval flows. Design and maintain Procurement policies that balance controls with Faire's culture of speed and autonomy.
**Strategic Sourcing:** Act as Faire's primary sourcing lead across priority categories. Identify savings opportunities, negotiate contracts and renewals, and eliminate duplicative vendor spend. Support business stakeholders in vendor evaluation, RFPs, term structuring, and escalation management.
**Systems & Operations:** Partner with Systems, Accounting, and Legal teams to improve the procurement platform implementation, including PO line item logic, invoice matching, user experience, and implementation of AI tools to increase efficiency. Represent the procurement team's interests in the financial systems technology stack.
**Leadership:** Serve as a trusted thought partner to leadership on procurement strategy and spend governance. Hire and lead future sourcing experts to achieve outcomes aligned with the procurement team vision. Partner with business leaders to implement sourcing priorities in decision-making.
**Project Management & Execution:** Manage multiple simultaneous initiatives from concept through execution, ensuring timely delivery, clear communication, and high-quality results. Be proactive in managing timelines, cross-functional coordination, and resource allocation.

Hybrid employees work in the office 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a flex day) with flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year.
**Requirements:**
- 7-10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, and/or finance operations roles, ideally with experience at both startups and scaled companies
- Experience building or scaling a procurement and/or sourcing function from the ground up
- Deep expertise in sourcing strategies, vendor negotiations, cost control, and supplier performance management
- Hands-on familiarity with procure-to-pay systems such as Zip, Coupa, Netsuite, or Workday Financials
- Strong process design skills and passion for workflow efficiency, data integrity, and automation
- Ability to influence and work cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Systems, and business leaders
- Experience operating in fast-paced environments where autonomy, judgment, and clarity are essential
