Aviso, a leading Canadian wealth management organization, is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Governance Implementation to join the Technology Partners team. Reporting to the Director of Data Governance, you will translate the company's data governance vision into actionable strategies and operational frameworks, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of data governance at Aviso. The role involves designing and operationalizing a comprehensive data governance framework that prioritizes trusted, high-quality data across the organization. You will champion customer trust and responsible data use by embedding ethical data principles and privacy into governance practices. Collaboration is key—you'll work across Data and Analytics teams, business units, and technology teams to balance compliance, innovation, and operational needs. Key responsibilities include enabling AI innovation by establishing governance structures that ensure accuracy, transparency, and ethical considerations in AI models. You will lead change management efforts to drive adoption of data governance practices and empower teams with necessary knowledge and tools. You'll establish clear accountability by defining roles and responsibilities for data stewardship and ownership across the organization. You will develop detailed implementation roadmaps for rolling out governance initiatives, aligned with enterprise priorities and timelines. Building and scaling capabilities is essential—you'll lead implementation of key governance tools such as Collibra, managing processes and technologies for data cataloging, metadata management, lineage tracking, and AI enablement. You'll establish metrics and KPIs to measure governance effectiveness and provide regular leadership updates on progress and outcomes. Finally, you'll stay current with emerging trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in data governance and AI ethics to continuously enhance Aviso's framework. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Data & Analytics, or a related field. You need 8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data & Analytics or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior management role. Demonstrated success implementing enterprise data governance programs is essential. Hands-on experience with data governance solutions—particularly Collibra, Microsoft Purview, or similar tools—is required. Advanced certifications in Data Governance, AI Governance, Privacy, or Data Management (such as Collibra Ranger, DCAM, CDMP, or AIGP) are preferred.
