OneTrust is seeking a Senior Manager of Data Engineering to lead a team of data engineers responsible for building platform and data engineering architecture for business intelligence and data science solutions. This role combines people leadership with hands-on technical contribution.
You will work with data architects and business analysts to understand business objectives, design optimal data models, and move data from source to target systems. Key responsibilities include developing and adhering to standard methodologies for platform architecture, data engineering, data quality, and validation; proposing and socializing data architecture to enable business analytics; driving technical conversations with stakeholders; solving production issues with long-term solutions in mind; collaborating with vendors and security teams on data controls; and partnering with cross-functional teams on product usage data, business data, and overall data strategy.
Technically, you will design and build facts, dimensions, snapshots, and slowly changing dimensions in Snowflake/Databricks using dbt, Airflow, and ELT tools while maintaining robust, trusted data models. You will also hire and retain top data engineering talent, assist in employee growth through coaching and career development, and lead an on-call team in a dynamic environment.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; 10+ years of professional data engineering experience with incident command experience during critical outages; extensive experience with data architecture, tool evaluations, data modeling, and ETL pipeline building; and experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments. Strong data warehouse knowledge, complex SQL proficiency, Python experience, and familiarity with distributed teams across geographies are essential. Experience with AI in a data engineering context is a plus.
