Salary: USD 190,000 - 230,000 / annual
Vercel, the agentic infrastructure company behind Next.js and v0, is scaling rapidly toward public markets. As Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting, you will lead a critical function within the finance organization, owning a diverse portfolio of accounting responsibilities and managing a team while partnering with an offshore accounting team.
You will own the monthly and quarterly close for assigned accounting areas, setting standards for accuracy and timeliness while reviewing team work and providing guidance. Your responsibilities span accruals, commissions, M&A integration, and subsidiary accounting. You'll work closely with FP&A and business partners to keep actuals, forecasts, and assumptions aligned, and flag issues early.
A key part of your mandate is modernizing the accounting function. You'll design and implement SOX-aligned controls that scale with the business, strengthen audit readiness, and support execution. You'll also lead the adoption of AI agents and automation to eliminate manual work and free your team for higher-value analysis. You'll own the audit relationship for your areas, preparing materials and keeping audits moving smoothly.
You'll coach and mentor team members, providing regular feedback and career guidance. You'll lead accounting work for acquisitions, including onboarding new entities and aligning policies and systems. You'll also take the lead on cross-functional projects while developing your team along the way.
You report to the Controller and are based in San Francisco with a 3 day/week in-office requirement.
Required: 7+ years of accounting experience (including 3+ years at a Big 4 firm and 2+ years in industry), 3+ years of people management or supervisory experience, Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and CPA certification. You need advanced knowledge of US GAAP and SOX, experience owning capitalized commissions accounting, and a track record of leveraging AI, automation, and systems to improve efficiency. You're a hands-on leader with strong ownership, able to manage competing priorities while driving results. You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively across teams, and thrive in fast-moving, evolving environments.
