Tabby is a leading fintech platform in the Middle East serving 25M+ users and 65,000+ merchants across Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Kuwait. The company is building a complete money app focused on send, spend, and save functionality with a mission to democratize financial services. This is a founding compliance role based in Kuwait, responsible for establishing the compliance function from the ground up rather than inheriting an existing program. You will be the principal contact with the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) and own all regulatory relationships and submissions. Key responsibilities include: - Owning the CBK relationship, managing correspondence, inspections, information requests, and supervisory dialogue - Leading the compliance workstream for CBK registration and licensing - Building the Kuwait compliance framework from scratch, including policies, controls, monitoring plans, and risk assessments - Acting as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), overseeing the AML/CFT program including STR filing, customer due diligence, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring - Maintaining the BNPL consumer protection framework covering dispute resolution, fee transparency, and complaint handling - Tracking regulatory changes, assessing business impact, and driving implementation across relevant departments - Preparing compliance reporting for CBK and audit/risk committee papers - Conducting regular compliance assessments and audits to identify non-compliance areas and recommend corrective actions - Providing strategic guidance to departments on compliance matters and regulatory updates - Designing and implementing efficient compliance processes leveraging technology - Collaborating with senior management to integrate compliance into product development, marketing, and customer service Required qualifications: 5+ years in compliance, AML/CFT, or regulatory advisory within a CBK-regulated entity (bank, finance company, exchange house, or registered e-payment/e-money provider); direct experience with CBK inspections and regulatory submissions; working knowledge of CBK e-payment regime and Kuwait's AML/CFT framework; proven track record building compliance frameworks; professional Arabic and English proficiency including regulatory correspondence drafting in Arabic.
