Taktile is seeking a Head of Legal to lead the company's legal function as it scales. The role is positioned as the first dedicated in-house legal leader, building on existing foundations: core contract templates, an in-progress Ironclad CLM rollout, and structure established by two fractional GCs covering US and EU operations. Key responsibilities include designing the legal function's evolution—deciding what scales as-is, what needs to evolve, and when to build out a team. You'll own commercial contracting across customer agreements (including with banks and financial institutions), vendor contracts, partnerships, and NDAs. You'll help define how AI decisioning intersects with banking, lending, and model-risk regulations, working closely with the compliance function and outside regulatory counsel. You'll support a growing global team across US LLC, German GmbH, UK Ltd, Romanian SRL, and LATAM contractors, partnering with HR on employment matters and local counsel as needed. You'll serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO and leadership team, advising on risk, deal structure, and legal implications of new products and markets. You'll own the company's data privacy program, including GDPR compliance for European entities. Day-to-day, you'll answer "can we do this?" questions from sales, HR, and product, staying close to the business and maintaining visibility across the organization. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of legal experience with meaningful in-house time, ideally in AI, fintech, financial services, SaaS, or other regulated/high-growth environments. You've built or significantly scaled a legal function from early or lean stage to something more structured. You're strong in commercial contract drafting and negotiation, comfortable as the primary negotiator on customer and vendor agreements. You have working knowledge of or genuine excitement to build expertise in financial services regulatory considerations relevant to AI-driven decisioning (credit, lending, model risk, fair lending). You've supported employment matters across multiple jurisdictions or entities, or quickly pick up new jurisdictions and know when to bring in local counsel. You hold a JD and active bar membership in at least one US state. You have an entrepreneurial, high-ownership mindset and sound judgment about when to solve something yourself versus route to outside counsel.
