As Senior Manager, China Compliance, you will be the local coordination hub for compliance matters in the China market. You'll bridge global Compliance teams and local stakeholders, ensuring group-level requirements are effectively implemented in the China business while providing market-specific insights that inform global policy design.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on and coordinating local implementation of group compliance, financial crime, and sanctions requirements for the China business
- Serving as the primary contact for China stakeholders on compliance matters involving overseas licensed entities and global policy owners
- Translating global policies into practical local guidance and providing implementation feedback to global teams
- Engaging China leadership to identify pain points, formulate solutions, and coordinate action plans
- Managing escalations, tracking open items, documenting decisions, and ensuring timely follow-up
- Communicating material China business issues, policy concerns, control updates, and risk implications to global forums and committees
- Identifying recurring customer-impacting issues and process gaps, working with owners to assess improvements
- Supporting compliance readouts, regional highlights, stakeholder updates, and management reporting on China Compliance & Risk
You bring relevant experience in compliance, financial crime, sanctions, risk management, or regulatory advisory within financial services. You understand compliance governance, policy interpretation, control implementation, and stakeholder advisory in regulated environments. Familiarity with cross-border payments, customer onboarding, CDD/EDD, sanctions screening, AML/CTF, and transaction monitoring is valued.
You excel at translating complex global requirements into clear local guidance, managing stakeholders across global and local teams, and communicating diplomatically in both English and Chinese. You demonstrate strong execution discipline with meticulous issue tracking, documentation, and multi-workstream delivery.
