Virta Health is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting to lead and modernize the accounting function at a rapidly growing healthtech company on a mission to reverse metabolic disease. The company has raised over $350M from top-tier investors and partners with major health plans, employers, and government organizations.
In this role, you will provide leadership across General Ledger accounting, financial reporting, and technical accounting, driving accurate and scalable operations. You'll own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, lead the external audit and quarterly review processes, and manage the preparation and review of all financial statements. You will lead technical accounting research for complex transactions, oversee stock-based compensation and equity administration, and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
A key aspect of this role is building and developing a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous learning. You'll evaluate existing processes and design scalable solutions that improve efficiency and quality. You're expected to champion the responsible adoption of AI, automation, and emerging technologies across accounting operations, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows while maintaining strong internal controls.
You'll partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, People Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and other business leaders to ensure accounting considerations are incorporated into strategic initiatives. Within your first 90 days, you'll develop a thorough understanding of Virta's accounting operations, build relationships with key stakeholders, take ownership of assigned processes, assess the close and reconciliation framework, and establish credibility with the accounting team.
This is an opportunity to shape the future of accounting at a healthcare technology company experiencing rapid growth, with autonomy to modernize processes and build scalable operations that support the next stage of growth.
