Adyen is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to join their Amsterdam office and drive the design, implementation, and deployment of production-ready machine learning solutions across multiple teams including Optimise, Protect, Identity, Behavioural Fraud, and Regulatory Reporting Technology.
In this role, you will research, design, and implement machine learning algorithms for both batch and real-time prediction systems. Responsibilities include developing orchestrated pipelines for analytical purposes and ML training, contributing to automation efforts for experiments and monitoring, and collaborating with product managers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into solvable ML tasks. You will explore complex datasets to identify patterns and opportunities, define key performance metrics, design rigorous experiments (A/B tests), and perform statistical analysis to validate model performance and quantify business impact.
You bring 5+ years of experience as a machine learning or data scientist with deep expertise in the full ML model lifecycle in production environments. You have hands-on experience with big data frameworks (Spark), SQL, and standard data science tools including TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost/LightGBM, Pandas, MLFlow, and Airflow. Your background includes strong knowledge of statistical inference, machine learning for prediction, causal inference, and data engineering/MLOps principles. You demonstrate an experimental mindset with launch-fast-iterate mentality and extensive experience designing and running experiments. You proactively lead projects from ideation to deployment, communicate complex outcomes clearly across diverse audiences, and stay current with latest ML research and developments.
