Docker is seeking a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own and scale lifecycle marketing across its Container and AI Platform products. You'll report directly to the VP of Product-Led Growth and partner with an existing lifecycle marketing lead to drive user activation, retention, and renewal across a marketable base in the tens of millions.
In this role, you'll take full ownership of assigned products, audiences, and lifecycle stages—from strategy through execution. You'll build lifecycle campaigns (email and in-product messaging) for both end users and admins, design and run large-scale programmatic sends such as account health checks, and automate first-touch flows for product-qualified leads (PQLs) and inbound leads in partnership with BDR and renewals teams.
Key responsibilities include: validating audiences and underlying signals in partnership with data and growth engineering; managing suppressions and contact governance to ensure compliance; running pre-send QA, live proofs, and launch monitoring; translating technical product usage signals into credible messaging for developer and admin audiences; turning a fast-growing priority list into a structured build queue and roadmap; coordinating with design and agency partners; and operationalizing reporting so the team has visibility into live programs and impact.
You'll work within Docker's marketing automation stack (currently Marketo and Mailgun, with a platform transition expected in 6–12 months) and leverage Snowflake and internal data tools to pull usage signals. In your first 30 days, you'll immerse yourself in Docker's PLG motion, audit current programs and tooling, and calibrate the roadmap. By 90 days, you'll ship at least one full program end-to-end and contribute to renewal automation. Within a year, you'll own a mature, scaled set of lifecycle programs and demonstrate measurable lift in activation, retention, or renewal conversion.
Docker is a globally distributed, remote-first team building developer tools trusted by 20+ million monthly users. The company is at the center of how AI agents are redefining software development, providing sandboxed environments, verified images, and secure infrastructure for autonomous workflows.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Lifecycle Marketing Experience: Background specifically in lifecycle marketing (not pure growth or demand gen), ideally within a PLG or self-serve motion
- Proven Program Ownership: Track record of owning campaigns end-to-end (strategy, build, QA, send) and shipping programs that moved a real metric (activation, retention, or renewal conversion)
- Marketing Automation Build Experience: Hands-on build experience in Marketo or equivalent platform, including audience builds, program/campaign setup, suppressions and contact governance, pre-send QA and live proofs, and launch monitoring
- Data & Targeting Validation: Comfortable working directly with data teams to validate record-level data and targeting logic; SQL writing is a plus, not required
- Technical-to-Message Translation: Track record of turning technical products or raw usage signals into credible messaging for developer/admin audiences
- Technical Familiarity: Comfort navigating developer ecosystems, cloud infrastructure, or complex multi-product software platforms
- Independent Ownership: Senior-level judgment and ownership as an individual contributor; ability to run with ambiguity and drive programs without every step spelled out; strong collaboration with senior peers
