Brodie Rec League is a rapidly growing North American sports brand operating across 30+ cities, serving 50,000+ athletes in recreational basketball. BRL Studio® is the in-house creative agency supporting this expansion. The Head of Content is the execution and operations leader responsible for all content captured and published from Brodie's venues.
This role owns three interconnected pillars:
**In-Venue Capture System (Primary Focus)**
You will design and operationalize the entire content pipeline from gym floor to publication. This includes publishing weekly shot lists for every market, setting and documenting capture standards for videographers, photographers, and Athlete Highlight Specialists, and building the ingest-to-publish pipeline that transforms hundreds of raw weekly clips into a curated library. You'll create onboarding and training systems that enable new shooters in new cities to meet Brodie standards without HQ involvement, review market output weekly, coach shooters, and hold League Managers accountable for content as a staffed part of every game night.
**Athlete Content, Storytelling & Retention**
You'll run the "Brodie Moment" system ensuring every new athlete and team gets featured in their first week, with every athlete featured across the season. You'll enable athletes to find, download, and share their own clips via a product portal, build athlete/captain/team/rivalry storylines that carry across seasons, program recurring in-venue formats (plays of the week, mic'd up, fit checks, etc.) that give every location consistent beats, and produce mid-season and season-end highlight mixes.
**Publishing & Cadence**
You'll manage the editorial calendar and posting cadence across the national Brodie® and Brodie Athletes® channels plus 20+ city/location accounts. You'll apply Brodie's content framework (Tease, Document, Showcase), coach and approve captions in Brodie's voice, set publishing standards, and submit weekly content calendars with performance reporting (reach, engagement, reshares, saves, follower growth, athlete content ratings).
**Team & Systems**
You'll manage a small content team (Content & Social Coordinator, Junior Content Operations Manager) and partner with the Executive Creative Director, Creative Director of Film & Content, Senior Photographer, and Senior Producer. You'll manage the in-venue content budget across markets, aggressively use AI for ideation, scripting, captions, editing, and reporting, and report to the exec team with strategic insights, not just dashboards.
This is a new position at a brand with significant reach and cultural relevance. You'll build systems that scale from 30+ to 60+ markets while maintaining quality and athlete engagement.
**Requirements**
- 5+ years in content, social, or production operations, including 2+ years managing people or crews
- Proven track record running multi-account, multi-location, or multi-crew content operations with documented cadence, standards, and results
- Experience directing photographers, videographers, or content crews remotely and across time zones
- Deep fluency in short-form video culture; ability to explain why cuts and storytelling choices work
- Strong writing skills and ability to brief designers clearly
- Comfort building process and structure from nothing in fast-scaling environments; exceptional organizational discipline
- AI-native mindset: active use of Claude, ChatGPT, and emerging AI-powered creative workflows to accelerate ideation, scripting, copywriting, editing, research, and reporting
- Commitment to 5 days in office at Toronto HQ
**Strongly Preferred**
- Agency background or in-house experience at a larger brand where you outgrew the silo
- Background in sports, culture, streetwear, music, or community-driven brands
- Hands-on editing ability (Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut, or equivalent)
- Experience managing freelance or contract creative crews and budgets
- Personal connection to basketball or understanding of community-driven sports culture
