Salary: GBP 92,960 - 172,640 / annual
DTX Pharma, a Novartis Company, seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to serve as the lead legal partner for the Breast Cancer Therapeutic Area and its global portfolio. This hybrid role is based in London, UK (with a secondary option in Basel, Switzerland) and combines legal expertise with strategic business leadership.
You will provide strategic legal guidance to commercial, medical, value and access, and development teams across a global oncology portfolio. Key responsibilities include identifying and mitigating legal, regulatory, and compliance risks; leading drafting, negotiation, and management of complex research, development, and commercial agreements; and supporting business development activities, alliance management, and integration of strategic partnerships.
You will review promotional, medical, congress, and external communication materials to ensure compliant execution, drive innovation by enabling novel business approaches, and support successful product launch strategies. The role requires close partnership with regional and country legal colleagues to ensure coordinated legal support across the Breast Cancer portfolio.
Essential qualifications include a law degree with bar admission and strong legal expertise in a commercial environment, significant post-qualification legal experience, and a proven understanding of pharmaceutical legal frameworks, compliance requirements, and risk management. You must demonstrate the ability to influence senior stakeholders, provide pragmatic advice in complex global organizations, and possess excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Fluency in English and the ability to navigate ambiguity independently are required.
Desirable experience includes in-house legal work within a global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare organization, and experience supporting international business operations.
