Salary: GBP 92,960 - 172,640 / annual
DTX Pharma, a Novartis Company, seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to serve as a strategic legal partner for its International Neuroscience & Gene Therapies portfolio. You will provide legal guidance across commercial, medical affairs, development, and market access functions, working with senior leaders to enable innovation and bring transformative medicines to patients with neurological and rare diseases.
Key responsibilities include: serving as lead legal partner for innovative products and strategic initiatives; providing strategic legal guidance to commercial, medical, value and access, and development teams; identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal, regulatory, and compliance risks; leading drafting, negotiation, and management of complex research, development, and commercial agreements; supporting business development activities and alliance management; enabling compliant promotional, medical, and external communications; driving innovation through novel business approaches and product launch strategies; building organizational capability through legal training and cross-functional collaboration; and partnering with global, regional, and country legal colleagues for coordinated support.
You will need a law degree and bar admission with strong commercial legal expertise. Significant post-qualification experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical sectors or at top-tier law firms advising healthcare and technology clients is required. You must demonstrate strong understanding of pharmaceutical legal frameworks, compliance requirements, and risk management; proven ability to influence senior stakeholders with pragmatic advice in complex global organizations; excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills; and a track record of managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines. Fluency in English and ability to navigate ambiguity independently are essential.
Desirable qualifications include in-house legal experience within a global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare organization and experience supporting international business operations.
