Salary: USD 119,200 - 165,500 / annual

Mercury is a fintech platform providing banking, treasury, and financial workflow solutions for startups and technology companies. The company is seeking a Senior IT Auditor to support its Internal Audit function and help execute the audit plan. In this role, you will perform hands-on IT and security audits, assess Mercury's technology risks and controls, and work cross-functionally to improve the control environment. Key responsibilities include: - Identifying, analyzing, and assessing IT, cybersecurity, and data security risks throughout Mercury - Scoping and planning multiple audits across products and operations - Conducting process walkthroughs and executing audit testing to confirm design and operational effectiveness of internal controls - Assessing compliance with Mercury's regulatory obligations - Documenting and reporting audit issues identified - Collaborating with teams to develop action plans, track remediation, and conduct follow-up testing Ideal candidates will have experience scoping and planning complex audits, conducting walkthroughs, and executing internal controls testing. You should be comfortable with IT control frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT), have exposure to cloud environments like AWS, and possess knowledge of financial services regulations and risk management standards. Experience with security and threat assessments is valuable. You'll need strong cross-functional collaboration skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage your own schedule to meet deadlines. Comfort with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to support workflows is a plus. The role offers competitive base salary, equity (stock options/RSUs), and benefits. Salary ranges vary by location: $132,400–$165,500 USD for major tech hubs (SF Bay Area, NYC, LA, Seattle); $119,200–$149,000 USD for other US locations; CAD $125,100–$156,400 for Canadian employees.
