Alumni Ventures is one of the world's most active venture capital platforms with $1.4B+ in assets raised and investments in 1,600+ companies. The company operates a network of 850,000+ members and 40+ dedicated investors, connecting accredited individuals to high-quality venture deals typically reserved for institutions through alumni-driven communities and diversified co-investment strategies. With offices in Boston, New York, Chicago, Menlo Park, Manchester NH, London, and Tokyo, Alumni Ventures operates a 5-day-a-week in-office culture emphasizing collaboration, mentorship, and shared momentum.
The Senior Investment Sales Executive plays a critical role in Alumni Ventures' growth by converting prospective investors into first-time AV investors and establishing foundations for long-term relationships. Reporting to the EVP of Nurture Marketing as part of the Investor Conversion Pillar, you will own inbound and warm prospect conversations from qualification through close, serving as an internal expert on high-quality investor calls.
This is a solution-selling role, not a scripted sales role. Prospects come to AV with different motivations—from accessing individual deals to building diversified venture exposure—and you'll adapt conversations accordingly. Depending on the investor, that could mean a syndicate deal, an Alumni Fund, a Focused Fund, or the Foundation Fund.
Key responsibilities include: owning inbound and warm prospect calls end-to-end from qualification through close; prioritizing zero-to-one conversion to help net-new prospects make their first AV investment while establishing foundations for the Relationship Management team; quickly identifying each prospect's motivations and adapting your approach in real time; using active listening and discovery to understand what investors want from venture exposure and connecting those needs to appropriate AV offerings; listening for buying signals, hesitation, and objections to help prospects make informed decisions; communicating AV's "see the deal, then decide" approach; maintaining disciplined follow-through by documenting call outcomes and prospect insights in HubSpot; partnering with Marketing and Nurture teams to share feedback on lead quality; contributing to the development of Senior Partner coaching and call-quality standards; and using AI tools to strengthen prospect research, call preparation, and personalized follow-up.
Your first priority is zero-to-one conversion. Just as important, you'll establish the trust and understanding that supports long-term, annual-allocation relationships that the Relationship Management team will carry forward.
**Requirements:**

- Skilled at diagnosing what a prospect actually needs and matching your approach to different motivations, levels of investment experience, and buying signals
- Comfortable adapting in real time when conversations take unexpected directions rather than relying on prescribed scripts
- Ability to learn and speak credibly about venture capital, fund structures, and portfolio construction, or demonstrated ability to quickly develop fluency in complex products
- Ability to maintain high volume of prospect conversations without sacrificing call quality, accurate documentation, or follow-through
- Comfortable receiving specific coaching based on call recordings and performance data and implementing that feedback
- Experience using HubSpot or comparable CRM for pipeline management, call documentation, and follow-up
