Anduril Industries, a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, and sensor fusion, seeks a Senior International Trade Compliance Engineer to lead the company's jurisdiction and classification (J/C) program. Embedded within the Legal Department, you will serve as the strategic subject matter expert responsible for export compliance engineering that enables rapid delivery of defense technology while maintaining the highest regulatory standards.
You will drive consistent export classification processes across global operations, developing classification decision rationale, heuristics, and methodologies for various product types to improve efficiency and accuracy. Leveraging AI and data analytics, you will make rapid, risk-mitigated jurisdiction and classification determinations while driving continuous improvement in process capacity. You will oversee Anduril's J/C monitoring program, aligning businesses and expanding monitoring, testing, and reporting to provide greater insight into the company's compliance posture.
Key responsibilities include deploying and maintaining J/C training curricula and robust methodologies across the enterprise; working with engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to obtain information required for accurate classifications; acting as the company's J/C subject matter expert to design strategies minimizing trade control restrictions while ensuring full compliance; assisting with government, customer, supplier, and partner inquiries; supporting investigations, audits, and compliance initiatives; and mentoring junior team members on classification methodology and regulatory interpretation.
You will report to the Deputy Head of Trade and work from either the Costa Mesa, CA or Washington, DC office. This role requires deep expertise in U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), with strong knowledge of aerospace systems, electronics, computers, encryption technology, and navigational hardware. You will communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences and influence decisions across engineering, business development, government affairs, and operations teams.
