Twilio is seeking an experienced Senior International Payroll Analyst to lead payroll operations across the EMEA region. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery across multiple countries while managing external vendor relationships, strengthening controls, and driving process standardization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee payroll processing and management of assigned payrolls across EMEA, with specific focus on Colombia, Brazil, and other assigned jurisdictions
- Support international payroll processing for multiple countries after necessary training
- Manage ad hoc projects related to payroll and benefits for international entities
- Monitor local payroll news and regulatory changes (housing allowances, income tax withholding, miscellaneous inquiries)
- Collaborate with payroll vendors to ensure timely and accurate processing of all pay-impacting transactions
- Assist the Accounting Team with payroll journal and accrual preparations and reconciliations of payroll general ledger balances
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and provide support as required
- Act as primary point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees in assigned regions
- Identify and implement payroll process improvements
- Deliver excellent employee experience during payroll onboarding, ad-hoc queries, and annual tax reporting
- Adhere to all legal and internal deadlines
- Understand employment tax requirements relating to compensation, benefits, and equity
- Oversee tax reviewer/payroll auditor requests and payroll inquiries
- Resolve parafiscales and social benefits inquiries from local jurisdictions
- Oversee annual income tax filing processes where applicable
- Help improve payroll-related documentation and procedures
The role partners closely with People, Benefits, Equity, Finance, Accounting, HRIS, Legal, and external payroll providers to support a high-quality employee experience and scalable payroll operations. This is a remote position based in Ireland with occasional travel required for team meetings and projects.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience managing payroll processing internationally with working experience in accounting
- Experience with processing equity transactions
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or another relevant field
- High attention to detail
- Discipline and ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize competing workloads
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills with customer experience focus
- Experience with Workday and outside payroll providers

- Customer service focus with ability to handle highly sensitive information
- Process improvement mindset and passion for reengineering payroll processes
- Strong interest in applying emerging technologies (AI) to re-engineer payroll workflows
- Deep understanding of EMEA labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory filings
- Familiarity with European Works Councils and trade union agreements
- Experience maintaining strict internal controls and auditing payroll processes
- Advanced Excel skills for complex data reconciliation and reporting
- Track record of implementing new payroll systems or transitioning vendors
