Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to own and scale the company's central manufacturing layout capability and system. The Manufacturing Design Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware—including static equipment, ground vehicles, sensors, undersea systems, and flight vehicles—and scaling these products across Anduril's production footprint, including the new 5M sq ft Arsenal-1 facility.
This role goes beyond creating individual layouts. You will architect Anduril's factory layout capability as a durable, enterprise-wide asset that serves as the single source of truth for production floor design across multiple sites with diverse product lines. The mandate includes designing production line and workstation layouts using data-driven approaches that incorporate cell design, flow configuration, material staging, operator movement, and ergonomic considerations.
Key responsibilities include: establishing and maintaining a centralized layout repository integrated with Facilities, Real Estate, and infrastructure planning; building and curating a centralized CAD shape library of standard manufacturing elements to ensure consistency across the organization; defining enterprise standards for layout creation including file formats, naming conventions, layer structures, revision control, and approval workflows; and deploying those standards across all sites and business lines.
You will work as connective tissue among operational stakeholders—Facilities, Real Estate, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Business Operations—to ensure production layouts and building infrastructure are designed as an integrated system. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, resource-limited environments, is flexible with ambiguity, and has experience or connection to overall facility design including building shell, infrastructure integration, dock and staging areas, material flow, and utility routing.
