Valar Atomics is building scalable, advanced nuclear power systems to unlock abundant clean energy for industry, hydrogen production, and next-generation manufacturing. The company is developing factory-made, rapidly deployable nuclear technology with a pilot plant in Orangeville, Utah.
As Senior IAM Engineer, you will own the design, integration, and governance of identity and access management across the enterprise, with Microsoft Entra ID as the central identity platform. This is a hands-on technical role reporting into the IT & Enterprise Software organization within the Business function.
Key responsibilities include:
• Design and implement end-to-end access management strategy and governance using Entra ID as the identity backbone
• Build SCIM-based user provisioning and deprovisioning integrations between Entra ID and downstream SaaS applications
• Configure and maintain SSO integrations (SAML/OIDC) across enterprise SaaS platforms and ensure secure, reliable authentication
• Map application-specific roles and permissions (Palantir Foundry, Polarion, and similar platforms) to Entra ID security groups to enable automated, auditable access assignment
• Build automated workflows that assign or revoke SaaS licenses based on Entra group membership, role, and department attributes
• Configure and manage AWS IAM roles, policies, and identity federation with SSO integration between AWS and Entra ID
• Implement conditional access policies, MFA, and least-privilege access controls across integrated platforms
• Partner with application owners and business stakeholders to define role-based access control (RBAC) models and access request/approval workflows
• Conduct periodic access reviews, certifications, and audits to ensure compliance with internal governance and regulatory requirements
• Troubleshoot identity, SSO, and provisioning issues and drive root-cause resolution
• Document IAM architecture, integration patterns, and standard operating procedures
• Stay current on Entra ID and AWS IAM roadmap changes and assess impact on existing integrations
Required qualifications: 5+ years of hands-on IAM experience with deep expertise in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD); strong experience implementing SCIM-based and API provisioning/deprovisioning integrations; strong experience configuring SSO (SAML/OIDC) integrations; experience mapping application roles and permissions to Entra ID security groups; experience automating license assignment and management based on group membership and attributes.
