Salary: USD 130,000 - 160,000 / annual
Insurify, a fast-growing MIT-founded fintech startup recognized on the Forbes Fintech 50 and Inc. 5,000 lists, is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to support Engineering, Product, Marketing, and SEO/Content teams. You will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to leadership across these functions in a fast-paced digital environment, working with team members based in Cambridge, MA and Sofia, Bulgaria. This role requires onsite presence at least 3 days per week in the Cambridge office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building strong, trusted relationships with employees and leaders across the organization
- Developing deep understanding of business operations to inform people decisions
- Advising leaders on organizational growth, team structure, workforce planning, and change management
- Coaching managers to effectively lead distributed teams
- Driving performance improvements through guidance on expectations, performance, and compensation structures
- Using data and trends to inform recommendations and develop scalable people solutions
- Managing employee relations issues with fairness and sound judgment
- Leading key P&C processes including engagement surveys, performance management, and compensation reviews
- Driving learning and development initiatives to build organizational skills
- Owning P&C programs and initiatives for assigned departments while ensuring consistency across locations
- Partnering with legal and regional P&C teams to navigate employment law, compliance, and cultural nuances globally
- Owning the immigration program, partnering with immigration counsel on visa and sponsorship execution
- Mentoring other P&C team members as a senior voice within the function
- Contributing to cross-functional P&C initiatives and fostering a positive, collaborative, inclusive team environment
Requirements:
- 6-10+ years of HR Business Partner or related experience, ideally supporting customer-facing or operations teams (sales, service, support) in high-volume environments
- Experience in insurance or technology sectors, and/or supporting technical teams
- Strong understanding of US employment law and experience managing employee relations in complex or high-volume settings
- Experience supporting distributed teams, shift-based workforces, or global organizations
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across all organizational levels, including senior/executive levels
- Strong coaching and communication skills with experience supporting managers in performance-driven environments
- Ability to translate business needs into practical people solutions and drive initiatives from start to finish
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to use data to inform decisions and communicate findings clearly
- Comfortable working independently in fast-paced, evolving environments with proactive and collaborative approach
- Strong judgment, resilience, and problem-solving skills to navigate complex situations with calmness and clarity
- Familiarity with HRIS tools (e.g., Rippling) and collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Maestro)
- Exposure to short and long-term incentive compensation and/or regulated environments
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
