Hinge Health is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Growth Data Science team supporting the New Products Pod. This is a zero-to-one opportunity to establish measurement frameworks and analytics capabilities for emerging products including HingeSelect, migraines, GI, arthritis, and other new offerings.
You will lead data modeling, funnel optimization, experimentation, and analytics to inform product and marketing strategy, improve member acquisition and engagement, and accelerate growth. Key responsibilities include:
NEW PRODUCT GROWTH STRATEGY: Develop measurement frameworks and success metrics for new products where metrics are not yet established. Conduct deep-dive funnel analyses to understand member behavior, explain performance changes, and identify growth opportunities. Collaborate with Growth Marketing and Product to shape positioning, launch, and scaling strategy.
EXPERIMENTATION AND OPTIMIZATION: Design and execute A/B tests with causal guardrails to measure incremental impact while detecting cannibalization. Build statistical models and user segmentations to identify audiences, improve conversion, and deliver relevant experiences. Extend attribution and cost-efficiency frameworks to understand business impact of new product investments.
DATA FOUNDATIONS: Develop robust data models and experiment-ready datasets as reliable sources of truth. Build dashboards and self-service tools for Growth Marketing, Product, Engineering, and leadership visibility. Advocate for upstream instrumentation best practices with Engineering. Apply predictive modeling and segmentation to improve understanding of member behavior.
Required: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent). 3+ years working with large datasets to solve business problems and generate insights. 3+ years SQL and Python/R for data analysis and end-to-end solutions. Experience with A/B testing, causal inference, funnel analysis, and experimental frameworks. Experience defining metrics, building data models, and establishing measurement frameworks in ambiguous environments.
Preferred: Machine learning for predictive modeling, segmentation, forecasting. Growth or product analytics for new product launches. Event taxonomy and data architecture experience. Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Databricks, Airflow, dbt). Experimentation platforms (Statsig, Split, Optimizely, Mode, Tableau). Healthcare or digital health analytics background. AI-assisted coding tools experience.
