Greptile is an AI-powered code review platform that analyzes pull requests for bugs and anti-patterns with full codebase context. The company reviews 5 billion lines of code monthly for 22,000+ customers spanning YC startups, big tech, finance, healthcare, and defense sectors. Greptile has scaled to eight-figure ARR with $30M in funding from Benchmark, Y Combinator, and other top investors.
As a Senior Generalist Engineer, you'll tackle some of the company's most challenging technical problems, including LLM memory optimization, multi-language codebase indexing, semantic search for large codebases, and autonomous code testing. Your responsibilities span the full product lifecycle: designing and implementing features, gathering user feedback for iteration, driving ambiguous projects from conception through launch, owning subsystems with defined SLOs, and mentoring junior engineers.
The role emphasizes hands-on problem-solving across a talent-dense team that has scaled critical functions at Stripe, Google, Figma, and similar companies. You'll work in-person in San Francisco, collaborating closely with teammates on high-growth challenges. The team is particularly excited about building agents that learn coding standards through context, using reinforcement learning to personalize PR feedback, and autonomously deploying feature branches to detect bugs through AI-generated end-to-end tests.
You should have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent, 4+ years of software or DevOps engineering experience, and proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript. This role is ideal if you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy solving hard technical problems, and prefer in-person collaboration.
