Celonis is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join the Visual Experiences (VX) team, which builds the shared visual foundation for the entire Celonis platform. The VX team owns the design system, custom chart libraries, and dashboarding platform that enable both human users and AI agents to co-create dashboards, explore data, and make decisions.
In this role, you will collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to build scalable, high-performance visual assets used across the platform. You will take ownership of reusable components, drive design system consistency through the Emotion design system, optimize high-load UI rendering, and build features for both human users and AI agent integrations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop scalable, reactive frontend architectures for interactive data visualizations
- Create effective algorithms to solve complex visualization problems (dynamic axis labels, histogram bucketing, fast interactions, dynamic graph layouts)
- Optimize browser rendering performance to maintain excellent user experience with large datasets
- Collaborate with experts to develop novel visualization techniques from prototype to production
- Advocate for visualization best practices and data literacy through knowledge sharing, blog posts, and documentation
- Contribute ideas to the product roadmap by collaborating with Product Managers, UX Designers, and cross-functional stakeholders
You will work with TypeScript, Angular, D3.js, Webpack, GitHub, Jira, and Datadog. The role requires strong proficiency in web frontend technologies (TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, Angular), experience optimizing high-load complex interfaces, and solid understanding of UX best practices and design systems. Experience with data visualization libraries (D3.js, SVG, Vega-Lite, Observable Plot, Highcharts) and production Angular development is preferred. You should be comfortable using AI tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) in daily coding and have interest or experience building schemas and APIs that AI agents can interact with.
