ICEYE is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join the Missions UI team, responsible for building intuitive web interfaces that enable satellite tasking and data analysis. You will develop customer-facing, on-premise web applications that guide users through the complete lifecycle—from planning imaging tasks on a map to successful product delivery—ensuring transparency, reliability, and usability throughout.
The role involves close collaboration with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to design, build, operate, and evolve interfaces that serve mission-critical defense and intelligence operations. The tech stack centers on React, TypeScript, and CSS, supported by a modern API ecosystem and development tooling. The team emphasizes automated testing, continuous delivery, and contemporary engineering practices, including AI-assisted development with tools like Cursor and Devin.
Key responsibilities include shipping features reliably within agile cadences, raising code quality through clean React/TypeScript contributions and active code review participation, maintaining production UI reliability and performance through safe deployments, translating product and customer needs into shipped solutions, and occasionally contributing full-stack to backend APIs (Node.js/TypeScript, PostgreSQL) to unblock delivery.
Required qualifications: deep senior-level frontend experience with React, TypeScript, and CSS; demonstrated ownership of frontend subsystem architecture with thoughtful state management and performance trade-offs; strong UX collaboration skills; understanding of REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and modern QA workflows; experience with live production systems and safe daily deployments; commitment to testing, documentation, and code review as core engineering practices; and daily use of AI-powered development tools. Bonus experience includes geospatial data work (PostGIS, GeoJSON).
The position is permanent, hybrid (3 days/week in office), based in Espoo, Finland. Employment is subject to applicable security screening. ICEYE operates internationally with 900+ employees, delivering space-based intelligence and reconnaissance capabilities to governments and allied nations, with dual-use applications in civil protection and commercial sectors.
