Farther is a rapidly growing RIA combining expert advisors with cutting-edge technology to deliver comprehensive wealth management. This Senior Frontend Engineer role focuses on building the conversational and generative UI layer that powers Farther's AI assistant—a system that answers advisor questions, navigates workflows, and dynamically composes interfaces.
You will own multiple interconnected systems: the assistant experience itself (prototype to production), the framework enabling any Farther surface to declare what the agent can do and see, and the renderer that transforms model outputs into validated, submittable interfaces. You'll negotiate and version the wire contract between frontend and agent backend, design extensible patterns so new input types are additive rather than refactoring, and treat developer experience as a first-class deliverable.
The ideal candidate brings 6+ years building production web applications with deep frontend expertise, strict typing discipline, and production experience with LLMs—agentic systems, tool calling, streaming responses, and conversational interfaces. You understand distributed systems fundamentals (timeouts, retries, idempotency, failure isolation), think in modular and composable patterns, and have genuine product instincts about user experience. You're fluent in AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Git-based PRs), comfortable with end-to-end ownership, and excel at knowledge-sharing and documentation.
Technical stack: React, TypeScript, Python, TanStack Query, react-hook-form, Zod, Tailwind CSS, Testing Library, GitHub Actions CI. UI modules are built and deployed independently, then assembled into one application.
Bonus experience includes agent-to-UI communication frameworks, building and versioning component libraries, AWS fluency (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, CloudWatch), engineering platforms or internal tooling, using LLMs to improve team development workflows, and fintech/wealth management product experience with performance optimization expertise.
