UiPath is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Scientist to join the Supply Chain & Retail business unit. In this role, you will work directly with Fortune 500 retailers and manufacturers on high-impact, real-world problems including demand forecasting, price and promotion optimization, and supply-chain decisioning.
You will own customer engagements end-to-end: from problem framing and solution development through to commercial delivery. This is applied AI at scale—taking cutting-edge machine learning, optimization, and agentic systems from research into production environments where results must hold up commercially.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning customer engagements across the full lifecycle, working directly with customer teams and executives
- Applying and adapting frontier ML, forecasting, and optimization techniques—including increasingly agentic AI—to novel, ambiguous problems
- Translating field learnings into product direction, ensuring each engagement strengthens core platform capabilities
- Operating autonomously across diverse stakeholders (data scientists, customer executives, product teams) and making judgment calls to ship solutions
- Staying at the frontier of applied AI and bringing emerging techniques back to the team
You bring a strong track record applying machine learning and data science to real commercial problems, ideally with depth in forecasting, optimization, supply-chain, or pricing domains. You are fluent in Python and SQL, comfortable with ambiguity, and excel at direct customer communication. Experience with agentic systems, LLMs, or production ML is a bonus. Above all, you own outcomes rather than tasks—you take an ambiguous problem and drive it to a shipped result.
The role offers flexibility in when and where work happens, with hybrid arrangements depending on business and team needs.
