As a Senior Data Engineer reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will own the design, build, and optimization of data pipelines that power the business. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, defining and constructing abstracted reusable datasets for Business Intelligence, Marketing, and Data Science teams, designing federated data validation frameworks to monitor data inconsistencies, and ensuring user privacy and security through best practices.
The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of software/data engineering experience with expertise in distributed data processing, data warehousing, data governance, and big data systems. You should have strong SQL and Python skills, with demonstrated expertise in building scalable data pipelines, query optimization, and data modeling. Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow), databases (PostgreSQL), data lakes (Iceberg), and data warehouses (Snowflake) is essential. Familiarity with healthcare or insurance, data security, and HIPAA compliance is highly valued.
The tech stack includes Postgres/SQL, Snowflake, Python, AWS, Terraform, Argo, Airflow, Spark, DuckDB, Iceberg, Airbyte, DBT, OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry, and Looker. You'll work on problems at the intersection of AI and systemic healthcare reform, with real ownership and autonomy alongside exceptional, mission-driven people. The role requires 3 days per week in the NYC office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
