Horizon3.ai, a fast-growing cybersecurity company, is seeking a Senior Federal Compliance Analyst to lead its Federal Compliance Program. The role focuses on building and managing the security posture and compliance strategy for Department of War (DoW) Impact Level 4 (IL4) and Impact Level 5 (IL5) offerings on AWS.
You will serve as the focal point bridging federal regulatory bodies, security teams, and engineering. Key responsibilities include leading IL4/IL5 compliance assessments and authorizations, maintaining FedRAMP High and NIST SP 800-53 compliance frameworks, and translating complex federal requirements into actionable technical specifications for cloud-native infrastructure.
You will oversee internal audits, risk assessments, and continuous monitoring programs. You'll act as the primary point of contact for external auditors (3PAOs), federal sponsors, and regulatory bodies, responding to security questionnaires and vendor risk assessments. Additional duties include developing GRC policies and procedures, delivering compliance training, and participating in incident response related to compliance issues.
The ideal candidate has 3-5+ years of GRC, Security Compliance, or similar experience with strong knowledge of DoW CC SRG, FedRAMP, and NIST frameworks. You should have experience writing FedRAMP System Security Plans and maintaining compliance in AWS environments. Excellent communication skills are essential for explaining technical compliance risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience with relevant certifications like CISSP or CISA), US citizenship, and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. An active DoW security clearance is a nice-to-have. The role is fully remote with up to 5% travel required.
