Wego seeks a Senior Finance Operations Specialist to lead reconciliation and payment operations. This role is central to ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple payment and settlement streams.
Key responsibilities include performing daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of payment gateway settlements against internal booking records; reconciling BSP (IATA Billing and Settlement Plan) transactions and resolving discrepancies; supporting consolidator and low-cost carrier (LCC) reconciliations by matching supplier statements of account (SOAs) to internal ledgers; identifying, investigating, and escalating reconciliation discrepancies promptly; supporting month-end close activities including journal entries and accruals in NetSuite; maintaining and improving standard operating procedures and process documentation for reconciliation workflows; and collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, vendor management) to resolve payment and data issues.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; 5+ years of experience in finance operations, reconciliation, or accounting (OTA/travel/e-commerce background preferred); experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite; and strong Excel and Google Sheets skills. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume transaction environments, strong analytical and problem-solving skills for discrepancy investigation, familiarity with payment gateways and BSP/IATA settlement processes, and excellent communication skills for cross-team and vendor coordination.
Nice-to-have qualifications include prior exposure to travel/OTA industry finance operations, experience with automation tools such as RPA or scripting for reconciliation, and exposure to GDS systems like Sabre or Travelport.
